Elizabeth Filbrick has been sworn in to fill the district one county commissioner seat. The Mountain Studies Institute invites you to participate in Forest Health Stewardship Day, and the La Plata County Fair is quickly approaching. The La Plata County Democratic Central Committee has sworn in Elizabeth Filbrick to fill the District one County commissioner seat. District one includes the western, southern, and northern portions of La Plata County. The seat was left vacant after prior District one County Commissioner Clyde Church retired Rik won the majority vote of La Plata County Democratic Central Committee members and will serve the remainder of church's term, which will conclude at the end of 2026.
