The Durango Arts Center's annual Durango Autumn Arts Festival returns for its 31st year and the low income residents may receive a free Durango transit pass. You are watching the local news Roundup, brought to you by Fast Sign Durango and Dunkin Donuts. I'm Sadie Smith Animus High School released a seven episode podcast titled Beyond the Bell. The episodes address education challenges and preparing the Next Generation for Life Beyond the classroom. Fort Lewis College Assistant Professor of Sociology and Political Science, Michael Rendon, an Animus High School Board treasurer, Greg Phillips hosts the podcast with guest speakers in the education and mental health fields. Each episode also features a student guest speaker, a HS Interim Director of Enrollment and Community Outreach. Libby cos Hopes the podcast is relevant to parents, educators, and community leaders. Listeners can find the podcast on Spotify, apple Podcasts, and the Animus High School website. The local News Network will also link the podcast in each newsletter Subscribe at Durango Local News. The Durango Arts Center's 31st annual Durango Autumn Arts Festival is 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday and Sunday, September 20th and 21st on East Second Avenue in downtown Durango. The festival showcases art from local and regional artists and attracts approximately 8,000 visitors annually. This year, the festival will present a new young artist, huge impact space, where 10 young artists will display and sell their work. For more information, visit the Durango Arts website. Low income residents may receive free Durango transit passes. Thanks to a donation from the Michael and Elaine Morvan Foundation. The foundation previously sponsored transit passes for veterans low income qualifications are set by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. Residents may fill out an eligibility form in person at the Durango Transit Center or online through the City of Durango website. To redeem a free pass, veterans must bring photo identification and their Veterans Military discharge document to the transit center.
