The 17th annual Apple Days Festival will be at a new location this year. Swing dancers are invited to learn from champion level dancers at this fall, west coast swing weekend, swing days ablaze, and the La Plata Electric Association will host a series of free events. The Good Food Collective's 17th Annual Apple Days Festival will be from 9:00 AM to noon on Saturday, October 11th. This year's festivities will be at a new location. Buckley Park. The festival is free to attend and will include Apple pressing a pie eating contest, a scavenger hunt in downtown Durango and fresh apple juice and cider. The Good Food Collective seeks volunteers to pick apples prior to the festival and assist with cider pressing greeting and sales during the festival. Sponsored by Esoteric Cider Works, proceeds support the good food collectives of food security, health equity, and sustainable agriculture efforts For festival information and to volunteer visit the Good Food Collective website, Durango's West Coast Wing Dance Group. The West Lo Westie will hold a weekend workshop with internationally ranked champion dancers, Hugo Meez, and Stacey K. The dance event will be Friday through Sunday, October 10th through 12th. Workshops will be at the light box at Stillwater Music and at the Smiley building. Topics include refining technique as well as adding styling musicality and variety to your dance. To celebrate the La Plata Electric Association. Host free events throughout the month to provide hands-on learning opportunities, energy tips, and electrical education. LPEA members are invited to share their thoughts and ask questions during an open-ended discussion with CEO Chris Hanson from 10 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 4th at Meadow Market, and from five 30 to 6:30 PM at James Ranch on Tuesday, October 28th, LPEA will hold an ARC flash Safety demonstration on Tuesday, October 7th. The demonstration is open to all ages and registration is required. LPEA also will host Solar Tours, guest speakers, and more throughout the month of October.
