Together arts and crafts fair and election results are in Ignacio voters support incumbent candidates for the school board. Ignacio Community Library will host a Christmas wreath craft competition from December 1st through the 20th. The library will provide a paper plate to use as the wreath base, along with other craft supplies. Bring your wreath back by Saturday, December 20th to enter the contest. The library also offers family friendly Christmas craft opportunities throughout December. Make your own Hawk Cocoa mix from four 30 to 5:30 PM on Tuesday, December 9th. Make holiday crafts from 11:00 AM to noon on Friday, December 12th and 19th, and create snowflakes using the library's Glow Forge 3D laser printer from three to 5:00 PM on Wednesday December 17th. Sky U Casino Resorts shine together arts and crafts fair returns from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday December 6th and 13th. The event features an indoor marketplace with handmade jewelry, home decor, clothing, and gifts made by local artists. The marketplace will be located in the hallway from Shining Mountain to the event center at Sky U Casino Resort. Visit sky u casino.com for details. Ignacio experienced a 49% voter turnout in November with about 22,000 ballots cast. Out of more than 44,000 active voters, voters elected to keep current members of the Ignacio School District. 11 JT Board of Directors incumbent. Leila Baker and James Baldwin received about 35 and 40% voter approval respectively. While newcomer Christine Sage received about 24% approval. Baker currently serves as board treasurer. She is an alumna of Ignacio High School in Fort Lewis College. With 10 years experience as an educator, Baldwin currently serves as school board vice president. He has served on the board since 2021 and received the Colorado Association of School Boards McGuffey Award in 2025. The elected board members will serve a four year term from 2026 to 2030.
