City crews will be moving through residential neighborhoods picking up furniture, large appliances, scrap metal, yard waste, and more. Pick up schedules vary by neighborhood, so make sure to check your zone and have items out the night before your scheduled date. Items not accepted include stumps, rocks, concrete electronics, batteries, and more. For full schedule and list of accepted items, visit durangoco.gov/cleanup. Also coming up Duranglers Fly Fishing Festival returns April 2nd through 4th with three days of films, clinics, demos, and deals. The festival kicks off on Thursday, April 2nd at Animas City Theatre with the Fly Fishing film tour at 6:00 PM. Friday features a fly tying demonstration and q and a with master tier Charlie Craven at the DoubleTree Hotel Ballroom starting at 7:00 PM. And Saturday is a full day at Duranglers with product demos, casting clinics at Santa Rita Park, A book signing with Charlie Craven and a grand prize drawing at 4:30 PM for a free guided fishing trip. Doors open at 8:00 AM and the first 20 people through get a free bag of swag. For tickets and more information, visit duranglers.com And looking ahead to April 10th Maria's Literary Foundation launches its second annual Read-A-Thon fundraiser, running through April 20th. Volunteer readers sign up for hour long shifts reading in front of the window at Maria's Bookshop to raise money for the reading room, a free Youth bookshop and reading nook in Durango. Readers are encouraged to secure donations and sponsorships and Maria's Bookshop will match donations up to $10,000. Signups are open at mariasbookshop.com.
